Alan Craig Henry our beloved brother and uncle has entered to rest Sunday, Aug. 9, 2026, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston. He was 69 years old.

He was born Feb. 20, 1957, the 13th child to Nora Francis (Pinchy) Taylor and Albert (Wildcat) Henry. He attended elementary and high school in Lapwai-and graduated in 1976.

In school he attended the Gunther School of Dance (tap dance). He also participated in many high school sports like baseball, football, track and band.

After graduating he worked at Potlatch on the wood side, then later transferred to Clearwater Paper. He was on the tissue side, shipping extruders, and retired as an equipment operator after 30 plus years.

In his spare time he enjoyed elders trips with his brothers and sisters, gambling at many different casinos, going to the mountains to gather traditional medicine, hunting and fishing, spending time with family and friends, going to the Dakotas with his brother and nephews and most of all watching his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Nora Taylor and Albert Henry; his brothers, Ronald Henry, Arnold Henry and LeeRoy Henry; his sisters, Marvella Jones, Alice McCurdy, Lou Jean Benjamin, Mardell Henry; and Linda Lou Henry; and his dogs, Smokey, Romo, Autumn and Sister.

He is survived by his brothers, Dale (Linda) Henry, of Orofino, and Melvin (Kathy) Henry, of Lapwai; his sisters, Francis Allen, of Lapwai, Gail (Wayne) Patterson, of Kettle Falls, Wash.; nieces and nephews; and his dog “Peppie”.

Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 12, the Pi-Nee-Waus Community Center in Lapwai.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 13, at the Pi-Nee-Waus, with burial at Jonah Cemetery and dinner to follow.
