Obituary

Betty Zane Eastwood, age 98, died of the infirmities of old age on August 2, 2026 in Camp Wood, Texas. She was born August 30, 1927 to John D. Bohall and Edna May Cleaver in Missouri Valley, Iowa. She moved to southern Idaho as a child and graduated from Pocatello Senior High School in 1945. She married David Bybee; they later divorced. She entered college when she was 31 and graduated from ISU's College of Pharmacy in 1963. She completed the five year program in four and a half years. She was named the Outstanding Senior of the graduating class. After graduation she moved with her family to Lewiston and began working at Payless Drug Store. She married Dr. Roy Eastwood in 1968. Betty enjoyed fishing, hiking, wildlife and the general outdoors. She was a life-long learner with catholic tastes, reading constantly and watching PBS nature and science programs as well as innumerable classes of The Great Courses. She religiously fed the squirrels and birds in her back yard. Her most outstanding characteristic was her unbending approach to life on her own terms.

Betty was preceded in death by virtually every one of her generation. Her parents, John and Edna Bohall, her brother, Alfred J. Bohall, her husband, Roy W. Eastwood and a step-son, David Eastwood all preceded her. She is survived by a small handful: her sons, Michael D. (Eun) Bybee in New Mexico, Steven D. (Jean) Bybee in New Jersey and step-son Donn Eastwood in Washington. She leaves eight grand children and fourteen great grandchildren. We thank those friends and neighbors who made her life so much better: Sue Cook, Harley Davids, Carole Duff.
