Obituary

Daniel Henry Aguilar Jr., 54, was peacefully called to heaven from his home in Lewiston on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016.

He was born Oct. 13, 1962, in Los Angeles, and spent most of his life in California before moving north to Lewiston in 2004. He joined the active duty U.S. Army Reserve in 1981 and served in the National Guard from 1986 to 1992.

Dan married Penny Shelton in 1981, and together they had three daughters, Breezi, Danielle and Bonita. On Jan. 8, 2015, he married the love of his life, Heidi Spears, and gained two stepsons, Cody and Andrew. He spent much of his life as a long-haul truck driver, but many would say he was a jack of all trades. He was diagnosed with brain cancer in January 2015, and fought a hard battle before being called home.

Dan found happiness spending time with family and friends. He loved boating, bowling, the Dallas Cowboys and working in the yard, and music was always a part of the good times. He loved music, and his mind was a jukebox. He was the life of the party, turning even the most serious moments into something to laugh about. Those closest to him would say that he lived life to the fullest.

He is survived by his wife, Heidi; children Breezi (Jonathan) Wilson of McKinney, Texas, Danielle Stout of Melbourne, Fla., and Bonita (Eric) Knight of Alexandria, Va.; stepsons Cody and Andrew of Lewiston; grandchildren Hunter, Kaitlynn, Mick, Dalton, Kaleb, Isaiah and Xavier; father Daniel H. Aguilar Sr.; and sisters Robin and Tony. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruth and Vick Aguilar.

The family would like to thank the family and friends for their support and prayer and would also like to thank the brain tumor research team at Duke University, N.C., St. Joseph Cancer Center, and Elite Home Health and Hospice.

The memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at Malcom's Brower-Wann Funeral Home of Lewiston, and a celebration of life will immediately follow.
