Ivon L Whitcher, 83, of Genesee, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023, at Royal Plaza of Olympus Living in Lewiston. He is being cremated at Malcom Brower-Wann. Ivon was born Aug. 26, 1939, in Colville, Wash., to Harry and Cala May Whitcher.

Ivon had worked several different occupations in his life: underground mine worker, iron worker, truck driver, and his favorite was store owner with his late wife, Carole. They owned the grocery store in Genesee until they retired. Carole died Aug. 6, 2009.

Ivon was married three times in his life and is survived by his children Starla Schultz, Mark Whitcher and NeVonne Jennings; stepchildren Kathy Tripp and Raymond Troutman Jr.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his best friend and brother, Harry Whitcher.

The family has decided to wait and hold a spring service and lay him to rest him next to his late wife in the Genesee Cemetery. He has waited many years to be with her again.
