Obituary

Jenni passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday, July 5, 2018, at her home.

She was born Dec. 6, 1971, in Grangeville to proud parents John Hatke and Connie Purdin. She graduated from Cheney High School and made a living working at Dealers Auto Auction in Spokane. Her mother later remarried Fredrick Purdin and he became the man in her life.

Jenni welcomed a baby girl in March of 1992 and named her Jena. In 1998, the family packed up and moved to Lewiston, where she met her husband, Kenny. They were married July 5, 2003, and together they welcomed a baby boy named Kaiden in March of 2004. Her children were her pride and joy.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Hatke; her dad, Fred Purdin; and maternal grandparents Jack and Lillian Daugherty.

She is survived by her children, Jena (Austin) Kilmer and Kaiden Nelson; her mother, Connie Purdin; husband Kenny Nelson; sisters Jean (Rob) Woollett and Johnna (Dennis) Wold; nieces Janevea (Keola) Santos, Jacci (Cory) Woollett and Konnar (Jimmy) Tousely; nephew Kevyn (Halee) Ledoux; uncles Joe and Ken Hatke; and one great-niece, Keelie Santos; as well as many other family and friends.

Malcom's Brower-Wann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at the VFW Hall in Lewiston. If you wish to attend, please bring a favorite dish as it is a covered-dish dinner.

She was a strong woman with a beautiful soul who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
