Guy L. Osborn, 90, passed away Monday, June 15, 2026, after living with Alzheimer’s for more than a decade. His family takes comfort in knowing he is now at peace.
Born June 7, 1936, in Lewiston, Guy was the eldest child of Stephen and Lulu Osborn. He grew up in Clarkston as the big brother to two younger sisters and graduated from Clarkston High School in 1954. Shortly after high school graduation, he proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps, stationed at Camp Pendleton in San Diego.
In 1960, Guy married Louise Mallory, of Asotin, beginning a partnership that would span 66 years. Their early married life took them to Omaha, Neb., where Guy worked as a beautician before returning to school to earn a teaching degree from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. He went on to teach middle school in Nebraska and South Dakota. During these years, he and Louise joyfully welcomed three daughters.
In 1975, the family returned to the Lewiston–Clarkston Valley, where Guy began working for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. He later worked for Developmental Services, Walla Walla Community College and Lewis-Clark State College. When his daughters were in school, he could be found doing anything from volunteering at school carnivals, to hauling FFA animals to the fair. During this time, Guy also actively served on the Clarkston Chamber of Commerce. In retirement, Guy devoted several years volunteering at the Clarkston Food Bank. In his later years, he continued to cherish time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were a great source of joy for him.
Though the illness diminished his memory, his family is thankful for his pleasant demeanor that endured, the glimpses of personality that remained and his strength of will that carried him through the long journey of his disease.
Guy is survived by his wife Louise; daughters Tiffany Barbee, Jennifer Hills (Jeremy) and Heather Osborn Papson (Marc); grandsons Dylan Barbee, Dustin Jolley, Garrett Hills and Grant Hills; granddaughters Rachel and Ashley Papson; and great-grandsons Bryson Barbee, Beau and Atlas Jolley. He is also survived by his sisters Mardell Wilson and Marsha Huggins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life will be planned for later this year. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Clarkston Food Bank.
